LITTLE DUCKS PRE-SCHOOL – MONDAY – FRIDAY 09.30 – 1.30

The Little Ducks playroom is primarily for children in their pre-school year and is curriculum based. The curriculum is presented in seven main areas of learning, which are planned to ensure that all the children’s needs are met to provide a basis for future learning. This playroom offers the children the same scope of learning as a nursery school with a higher ratio of qualified staff.

LITTLE OWLS PLAYGROUP – MONDAY – FRIDAY 09.30 – 1.30

The Little Owls playroom is for children aged 3 and will teach them skills including hand and eye co-ordination, balance and large motor skills. The work carried out with the children encourages development and growth and includes early math, english and science. The main emphasis is learning through play.

AFTERSCHOOL CLUB MONDAY & WEDNESDAY P4 – P7 3.00 – 5.00 TUESDAY & THURSDAY P1 – P3

The Afterschool club is for primary school age children. It provides a safe stimulating environment for the children to play and express themselves through many arts and crafts activities. A programme is organised by both the children and staff every month so that the children are actively involved.

TODDLER GROUP – TUESDAYS – 10.30 – 12.00

The Toddler Group is open to all babies and toddlers as long as they bring an adult with them! Qualified childcare workers are on hand every week to encourage play and stimulate learning. A programme is drawn up with the adults of the group and includes many outside activities i.e. trips to the farm, zoo and indoor adventure centres.

Carew II is a warm and welcoming place for adults who wish to learn new skills, update their skills/qualifications or just build their confidence by taking their first course or qualification. We understand the concerns many adults face when making a decision to return to the learning environment. For this reason our staff, who are mainly local people and have personal experience of returning to training, are encouraging and very supportive. To make sure that there is a balance within the Centre we offer a range of courses for men only, women only and joint classes.

We have a free crèche service for those people who need their children minded during course times. The crèche is staffed by trained, qualified and experienced people and is for children aged 0 - 13 years.

Courses run at different times, mornings and evenings to try to meet the needs of our trainees.

NVQ LEVEL II – CHILDCARE AND EDUCATION
